今度本当に久しぶり。。

well, what to say? judging from the time since the last time i posted you could consider this blog to have deceased due to disinterest, but i am not one to move on create new ones..

lets say i just like consistency in certain things in life (and the complete lack of it in most other parts of it)

what news from this corner of the world, you might ask, since dear nicolas got himself to post again? well, there are certain things worth noting that have changed since the last time. first of all, i am a happy student of the japanese and political studies at the university of zürich since two and a half years now, and getting ready for my next trip to japan, this time for a whole year!

also, i moved apartments more than a year ago, but other than that everything stays the same..
but that is just a question of noteworthiness, things others deem achievements are for me just another page in an endless book. a book, in which the last page contains something ground-shakingly changing, and until i get to that page, it will just continue to be a chronicle of the perpetually changing appearances a mountain might go through, when in truth it will stay the same mountain for the next few millennia. (unless some overly eager despot gets the brilliant idea of using a tunnel going through it for H-bomb testing..)

i will keep you entertained with more useless ramblings of my own uselessly creative brain whenever i feel like it, hope you look forward to that ;)

wow it's been some time since i last posted on this site, seems like i've neglected my blogging duties on a large scale lately..
i'll post the rest of my pictures of japan later when i find some more time..
about the recent happenings:
I started studying japanese at the east asian seminar at the university of zürich last autumn, and i'm awaiting the results of my mid-year exams .. really takes a lot of your time away, with 25 hours of lessons and many times more spent at home studying, especially for the language part of the program. I hope all turns out well, i have a good feeling about most of the exams except one: the one where japanese characters were being tested.. well lets hope for the best ^^

look forward to some pictures sometime soon, when i get around to posting them :)

hi there everyone! well it's been some time since i've come to tokyo now (a little more than a month) and i haven't been doing much else than going to school, improving my japanese and going out of course :) "well how's life over there?" you may wonder.. if I told everyone that I live in a 12 square meter apartment and see nothing but people 3 heads shorter than myself every day wouldnt be wrong, but it would leave exactly the impression people have of japan, wich is totally wrong! well to speak frankly, if I could, I would stay here forever (how long that "forever" would last, I dont know, since I'm always eager to see new stuff) but if people said that america was the land of infinite possibilities, they've never been to japan.. why you ask me?? in 3 words: its safe, its crazy, people are infinitely friendly (and remember you the next day), and you can do things here most people wouldn't have dreamt of in their wildest dreams (ok thats 4 things, so what?)
well, if you want to know what that photo is all about: no, i'm not japanese and I do not enjoy running around with only a coat and shoes on, it was a note stuck to every wall in the vincinity some time ago :)

the whole school bbqing somewhere between tokyo and fuji-san.. well the whole trip was rather unfortunate, with the first stop at the suntory winery, where they showed us...erm.. nothing actually.. they did have a certificate for winning a wine contest in.. erm.. ljubliana (probrably written wrongly).. well i wouldnt hang that up in my winery :) after that we went to a wine degustation.. yay we thought.. if it hadnt lasted for about 25 minutes and they hadnt served us glasses with amounts of wine in them that came near to single sips.. i managed to get my share of it nevertheless.. didnt care how many glasses they had to wash afterwards, serves them right :D
after that was barbecueing.. that was actually very enjoyable.. but the following visit to mount fuji was a big dissapointment.. couldn't see much more than a wall of fog blocking the view! end result of the trip: we were in the bus for ages, did nothing constructive, and drove back again :D wonderful isnt it??

my class! really funny bunch, with my teacher (front/in black) and 2 always-blabbering korean girls next to her.. well the majority of people in my class (and my school) are koreans.. well they talk like AK47's, just as swiss-german must sound to strangers.. theres a mongolian guy, a mexican, 1 girl from peru, 2 chinese 1 thai and 2 from bangladesh.. guess who is who :D

hi everyone
as some of you probrably know, I passed my matura (finally, FINALLY!) and am now recovering from a week filled with constant partying.. ah well my recovery time won't last very long, since I'm leaving to Prague this evening! (and with approx. 15 graduates coming along, I don't think I will stay sober until we return next friday morning...)
My trip to japan is coming closer and closer.. combined with some increased activity on this page! I will be posting about what I experience in japan along with some images of all sorts of things, so come by every now and then..

yeah.. its coming closer and closer.. and my holiday as of the 23rd too.. yay ^^
I am so looking forward to going snowboarding to saas fee for a week, you wouldn't believe it!! and i finally need a break from school, i'm slowly going insane here.. got a french exam tomorrow nad haven't done much yet.. well thats me :)
but at least i'm free 'til the weekend, so i can go have some fun in the sun.. errrr cold.... brrr minus temperatures..... well forget that.
by the way, i looked at the DoCoMo page some days ago, and I must say I am really looking forward to the days that are due to come... ( www.nttdocomo.com, top right hr hr=)

..was what i was saying to myself this weekend, as my dad managed to send my mobile phone to oblivion by putting a pair of trousers of mine in the washing machine (in wich my mobile was lying in)... he even managed to switch off the main power switch while my computer was running, what resulted in a harddisk with 250 GB worth of downloads joined my mobile on its way to nirvana.. i still cant believe how much damage one person can do in a matter of 2 hours!!

well, the occasional ups and downs don't change the fact that life here in immensee is ever the same.. mainly because you do not do many other things than study for exams or get unbelieveably drunk.. i still cant imagine what else you want to do out here in the boondox..

the planning for my next trip to japan next summer is getting along quite well.. the only issue is (once more) the money, since i figured out that i will be paying ~7000 Sfr. by now.. and that is just the basic accomodation, flight, tuition fee, and essential food&drinks...
i haven't spent anything on any fancy stuff yet (wich i really do plan to do, really really really :)

by the way, today is my nameday!
since its so big a thing to celebrate in greece, i have been getting phonecalls from my family down there all day.. thank you all folks :)
i won't be handing out presents, though.. i am not the samichlaus!!!! =)
